I've become one of "those" people.

So, I always thought that couples without kids that were always telling stories about and taking pictures of their pets were a bit "interesting" in a "oh, poor them" kind of way. Well...I have become one of those "poor people" :-) We have a yard full of animals here - a goose (Honk), 20 chickens, a dog (Serabi & the kitties obviously have her trained), a cat named BadCat (it was Scott's before me) and 4 rapidly growing kitties (2 boys, Max & Hadley and 2 girls, Molly & Bailey). Harriett and Harley, our cows, haven't been moved here yet, but I'll keep you posted. Anyways, 2 of the 4 kitties have become our "daughters" (the grey ones) and while they still sleep in the garage at night, they are pretty darn spoiled. I vow to not be one of those people who is constantly telling stories about their "kids" but I have to admit, they do keep us entertained. :-)

  1. I love this picture! And I love that you are " one of those people." :)

Keep the tales wagging (no pun intended.)

  2. Hi Jessica - so nice to hear from you and congratulations on building your first home - it is exciting, somewhat stressful, but it is exciting none-the-less. Well, actually my front door was an issue for me too - mine is very simply - white. We used a lot of brown on the exterior of our home whether it be lights or stone and a brown metal roof. I didn't really want to do red or orange - simply because I wanted a lighter look. I veered away from dark colors - because I didn't want it to look like a dark whole. I really leaned towards a pretty blue - but couldn't commit - yet. Maybe soon. I am living with the white and I love the "lightness" of it but I would embrace a color option also. If you look back into my blog - you'll see my front door on and "entryway" post. That way you can see what it looks like. Just get a lot of swatches and hold them up to your siding and see what speaks to you - I'm sure you will make the perfect decision for you and your home. Let me know if I can be of further help!
