I've become one of "those" people.

So, I always thought that couples without kids that were always telling stories about and taking pictures of their pets were a bit "interesting" in a "oh, poor them" kind of way. Well...I have become one of those "poor people" :-) We have a yard full of animals here - a goose (Honk), 20 chickens, a dog (Serabi & the kitties obviously have her trained), a cat named BadCat (it was Scott's before me) and 4 rapidly growing kitties (2 boys, Max & Hadley and 2 girls, Molly & Bailey). Harriett and Harley, our cows, haven't been moved here yet, but I'll keep you posted. Anyways, 2 of the 4 kitties have become our "daughters" (the grey ones) and while they still sleep in the garage at night, they are pretty darn spoiled. I vow to not be one of those people who is constantly telling stories about their "kids" but I have to admit, they do keep us entertained. :-)

Memphis, MO - Population...2,061

I have decided that, while small town living does take some getting used to, I am quite fond of it. I will give you a for instance. Today while making our bed I discovered that one of our beloved kittens (not sure which, but I have a hunch) apparently used our beautiful comforter to (gulp) mark her territory! I immediately went to shove it in the washing machine only to find out that our washer does not quite hold a queen size fluffy blanket, not even a little. This is where the living in a small town came in handy. After calling my dear friend Ruth, who I have learned really does know best, I called the Real Estate office on the square. A Real Estate office you ask? Well yes, because it also doubles as a dry cleaner!?! It technically was not open for business until Monday but after explaining my predicament (cat pee + comforter = not a happy hubby) she said she'd gladly take it home and wash it there for me. And, as I type this post, it is air drying on her stair banister. Small town living, funny eh?

A blogger I am!

Well, I have decided that my life might just slightly be interesting enough that I could share some of the silly details of the day. Not that it is ME making my life intersting, but the little things that go on in it that bring a smile to my face. Anyone that really knows me knows that I probably won't commit to posting things everyday (thank goodness you say) but I will try and write things as they happen and even add some pictures. Maybe it'll bring a smile to your face too, who knows!:-)
